Mayor Race - Press Release

For more than 75 years, the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce (“AHCC”) has been serving as a community partner in fostering business growth and strengthening the local economy and community.  Currently the AHCC has a membership base of approximately 500 members ranging from sole proprietors, to local legacy businesses, to nationwide companies. As a not-for-profit corporation, the AHCC is governed by its Board of Directors (the “Board”) which is comprised of 16 individuals representing not only the Arlington Heights businesses, but those of surrounding communities that do business in Arlington Heights and know the importance of building connections in the Arlington Heights community.

The Board has been made aware of past Board Presidents and other former members of the AHCC offering their support and endorsing certain Arlington Heights mayoral and village trustee candidates for the upcoming April 1, 2025 election. The Board wishes to make it clear to the Village of Arlington Heights and to all of its residents that these past Board Presidents, current members of the Board, and other former members of the Board can offer their personal support and in no way have the authority to bind or offer the collective support of the current AHCC or the Board.

Further, the Board would like to take this opportunity to reaffirm its longstanding position in remaining neutral in local political races and affording each of its members and the residents at large the opportunity to review each candidates’ policies and continue to use the AHCC as a resource for advocacy, connections and information gathering. Collectively, the Board must act in the best interest of the AHCC and its membership at large. The Board believes it to be in the best interest of the AHCC to issue its official stance: to remain neutral and not endorse one specific candidate in the upcoming April 1, 2025 election.

The Board invites its members and residents of Arlington Heights to contact each candidate directly or visit each candidate’s website for more information on their policies, plans and ideas for the Village of Arlington Heights in the future. The following candidates are listed in the same order as they will be presented on the ballots for the April 1, 2025 election:

The Board has carefully prepared a set of questions for the mayoral candidates as well as a separate set of questions for the trustee candidates of which the Board will begin circulating those to the respective candidates as soon as possible. Each candidate’s answers to those questions will be posted on the AHCC website for the public’s review.
